Authorization for 308(d) Extension/Amendment Assurance of Confidentiality Protection for
the “National Program of Cancer Registries Cancer Surveillance System (NPCR CSS).”
This memo is to provide formal approval of the 308(d) Assurance of Confidentiality protection for
the “National Program of Cancer Registries Cancer Surveillance System (NPCR CSS).”
The Assurance of Confidentiality (AoC) has been amended An amendment of the existing
Assurance of Confidentiality is requested to remove full description of the closed Comparative
Effectiveness Research (CER) and Patient Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR) projects.
For ongoing projects, CDC practice is that every five years, the program must apply for a formal
extension of the 308(d) authority. Please apply for the extension at least six months prior to May
1, 2030
Please use 42 USC 242(k), and 42 USC 242(m) as the legal references for information collection
and protection.
