VA Form 21P-534 requests the
information necessary to determine entitlement to dependency and
indemnity compensation (DIC), death pension, accrued benefits, and
death compensation. VA Form 21P-534a requests the information
necessary to determine entitlement to DIC based on in-service death
only. VA Form 21P-534 is used to process claims under the "Fully
Developed Claims" process. Without this collection of information,
VA would be unable to authorize and properly pay benefits.

information collection. There is a change in the annual expected
number of respondents due to the Final Rulemaking RIN 2900-AO81,
"Standard Claims and Appeals Forms" which requires all claims for
benefits to be submitted on an application or form prescribed by
the Secretary.
