The information collected on Forms
SSA-1372-BK and SSA-1372-BK-FC is needed to determine whether
children of an insured worker are eligible for student benefits.
The data allows SSA to determine student entitlement and whether
entitlement will end. The respondents are student claimants for
Social Security benefits, their respective schools and, in some
cases, their representative payees.
The burden decrease is due to a
correction we are making to the burden data. We realized that we
have been double counting the burden indicating it would take 11
minutes for both the student and the school office to complete the
form, whereas it takes a total of 11 minutes - 8 minutes for the
student and 3 minutes for the school official to review the
students work, sign the form and file it. Please see the
justification in the documents section of this ICR for additional
information.
